Balchik airport is inactive since 1998, but Bulgarian AF use it for training sorties over Black sea. 

Between 13 and 15 May five MiG-29's (12, 14, 16, 17, 37) from 2nd Fighter Squadron has been deployed to Balchik for sea training sorties. 

C-27J Spartan (073) from Vrajdebna and AS 532AL Cougar (712) from Krumovo also took part in the operation.
